Memo to the File: First Interview of SAM JONES
March 14, 2011

          Upon recent notification that fellow colleagues at the firm will be representing the Jones’ at trial, it is essential that the following interview reach all necessary attorneys.   Last week I met with a new client, a Mr. Sam Jones.   Mr. Jones came to my office seeking counsel on behalf of his son Ted Jones, with the hopes of a future lawsuit against the City of Seattle, for damages his son incurred at the city park.   Sam is a 40-year-old working native of Seattle, and single parent to his eleven-year-old son Ted.   At the outset, Mr. Jones made it clear that he wanted to discuss nothing but the facts of his case, in hopes of formulating a successful suit.   He contests that his sons injury was not the result of any negligence on Ted’s part, but rather deems the City solely responsible, contesting that his son is just a “normal, curious kid.”   Upon my inquiry as to the nature of their father/son relationship, Sam articulated that Ted is the main thing in his life.   Further, he reiterated that the family has been facing hardship post the unfortunate death of his late wife, stating “He does the best he can.”
          As mentioned above, for all intensive purposes, Sam’s function is that of an agent for his son.   It seems as though he is especially concerned not only with how much compensation his son will receive, but moreover, with holding the City responsible for their extreme carelessness.   Sam repeatedly asked if he had a strong case, and inquired as to a ballpark monetary figure.   Respectfully I disclosed that it is too early to make such determinations, but that this firm will do its best to accomplish what is desired.   The following account of the facts described herein through Sam, are those as explained by Ted.
