How I Became an Online Student

The thought of going to college and wanting to further my education was an easy concept. Many people have the desire to earn a degree and do something positive with their life. It’s actually taking the steps to make it happen that can be challenging and difficult. There were many factors and events that led me to become an online student. Where do I start? How will I find the time to study? How can I afford my education? These were some of the questions I had to ask myself and find the answers to.
Unfortunately I was unable to finish high school in my senior year. I had moved to a new city and had a hard time registering at my new school. I gave up and decided to move again, this time to Georgia, in hopes of starting a new life. I attended Open Campus High School for a semester. I was working full time and expecting my first child. I had to make the decision to drop out once again to raise my daughter. I still planned on going back to school in the future.
In 2007 I decided to get my G.E.D. I had been out of school for awhile, and I believed it was time to take the steps to go to college while they were young. I now had two children who looked up to me. After receiving my G.E.D. diploma, I talked with an advisor at Everest College about earning my Business Administration Degree. I was disappointed to find out how much the tuition and fees were for 8 months of school. I had an extremely tumultuous schedule that hindered me from being able to attend classes on campus faithfully. Once again, my plans for college were put on hold.
I was talking to my friend one day about how badly I wanted to go to college, earn a degree, and have a successful career one day. I wanted so much more for my kids and myself.
