Parker Earth Moving Company Consulting Operational Performance
Using the basic EOQ model to figure the reorder points for the Parker Earth Moving Company’s (PEMC) new Ultramover, the average daily demand of 834 units on a six-day work week and a lead time of 58 days to receive the required raw materials and component parts shows that the reorder point would be at 17,037 units produced, or 21 days of production. This would leave enough raw materials and components to produce the additional 42,963 units within the allotted 90-day period.
