Introduction:
Organizational psychology helps organizations work well. It also suggests the best ways organizations can work and thrive. If organizations work well the entire energy inside the organization will also be churned out to bring in the best and hence the organization becomes a productive organization. Organizations have a vision and a mission statement and chart out their processes very effectively and have grand leadership styles but still may not be successful. One of the chief reasons for this could be the bad element in the form of bad workplace ethics and conflicts which prevent the organization from working together. So the psyche of the firm should be to work together as one organization and not as parts. The study of how this can be achieved is called organizational psychology. Processes can be set right but if people do not change their mind set in the organization nothing can be achieved and for this reason it is very important. Stephen Marshal an industrial psychologist says that “Unlike private therapist , industrial psychologist are focused on a company’s bottom line.(“http://abcnews.gocom/Business/FunMoney/story?id=3375623&page=1’).
Importance of organizational psychology:
Every organization has groups working vertically and horizontally to integrate various functions of an organization .Since group work in inevitable there should be a cohesive force between groups. To bring about this effectiveness organizations should set in their workplace order in such a way that groups can work together ad very effectively with minimal conflicts. The organizational psychology study should be so attuned that everyone from the lowest ranked employee to the highest on the hierarchy communicate in organizational parlance and make all processes productive.
