Organizing Is Not A Crime

Almost everyone has a problem, hidden or revealed.   Some have a fear of germ infestation that causes him or her to frequently wash their hands.   Others always worry that their parents will get sick or hurt.   Some worry about thinking bad thoughts and believe that day dreaming could make bad things come true.   Some feel that they have to say things a certain number of times, ask questions repeatedly, or even keep things excessively in order to prevent bad things from happening.  
I happen to fall in the category with the obsessive organizers.   My environment has to be clean or it causes me to be agitated.   I worry so much about how messy an area is that sometimes I will spend numberless hours, or even the whole day cleaning or tidying up that certain room, counter space, or object.   I oddly find delight in organizing and have a huge desire for things to be done just right.   I often find myself looking in the mirror or worrying about how I look.   Because of this “organization- crisis,” I have found myself to be a perfectionist, extremely detail-oriented, self- conscious, and very stubborn at times.
On a daily basis, I wake up with just enough time to get ready for school because I am a procrastinator.   I spend about ten to twenty of my precious minutes straightening up my room, the kitchen counter, or my underwear drawer.   Therefore, as a consequence, I run to my first period arriving hot, out of breath, and disgustingly sweaty.   The occasional glances I receive from the classroom make me wonder if I am suffering from OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder).
If I am invited over to a friend’s house, I find myself immediately walking towards a pile of clutter with open ideas rapidly flowing through my head of how to organize it.   Without the consent of my friend, I rearrange the clutter to my satisfaction.   Only my true friends understand my habits and do not think of me as an oddball.   As for the others, I have to assume the...
