Personal Perspective Paper
Just after 6 months after completing my bachelor’s degree, I found myself looking into a MBA program just because I’m the type of person whom has to keep going. For a few months now, I have been looking into all my options and how they would help me in the future with my goals. One of my long terms goals is to own a gym and be able to manage it. The Army has giving me so much education and has helped me with my leadership skills, but I truly want to be all I can be, I want to be able to teach, lead and follow. Fitness is my passion in life and being able to touch people’s lives is my pride, being able to run the business that would allow me to continue doing what I love, will only make me stronger.
I have been in the Army for 10 years now; I’m a senior non-commission officer, I’m a leader of soldiers and as such I need to adherence myself to my own high standards. I do encourage and required that my soldiers get an education; I do motivate them to want to be educated, to have a plan B to their military careers. I always try to stay technically and tactical proficient, as a senior human resource sergeant I have the obligation to prove my soldiers that education is the best key to success and the Army gives us the opportunity to own that key.
If one day something would happen and the Army decides that I’m not a need for them anymore, I would always have my education to keep going in the professional field. I expect for the MBA program to make me a better team player, follower and leader. It has been over a year since I became a senior human resource sergeant and even thought I’m still learning the in and outs of that role, I believe that I’m a strong leader and of course, follower. There is a strong believe of mine that to be a good leader the person must know how to be a good follower first.
