“Analysing how using different mediums can change the mood
                                                    of a piece of artwork”

  I have chosen to explore the properties and effects of different mediums, as I would like to gain a fuller understanding of how I can best create different effects through various mediums. I believe this could improve my work, as it should enhance the resultant visual appearance.  
  Whilst exploring the effects produced through the use of different mediums I came across the works of Pablo Picasso and George Braque. I discovered that Picasso worked in various ways and managed to simplify complex ideas and what's exciting for me about Picasso is that he always took risks and set a precedent about what art is supposed to be and found different ways of visualising the way things are meant to be.
  I became particularly interested in his portraits and paintings depicting figures. I became ensnared by his manipulation of colours and style in order to alter the mood of an image.
  Picasso experimented with various different styles of painting, he moved through periods in which he focused primarily on using particular colours in the construction of his paintings. Georges Braque is credited with the creation of the visual arts style of Cubism, alongside Pablo Picasso.    
  Braque’s paintings consist primarily of still life. Both Braque and Picasso created many cubist works and were greatly influenced by Fauve painters who were a small group of artists that were known for their wild, vibrant art style.
    Along with the admiration of the explosion of colours, Braque followed the works of Matisse, Derain, amongst others. I also became fascinated with their use of colours and how these contributed largely to the tone of the image or piece by their assotiated connotations.
