Presidential Debate

The last presidential debate seemed to be the most entertaining of them all. Moderator Bob Schieffer was my favorite moderator as well because he did a good job in letting us know a little bit more about whom the candidates running for presidency are. Minds probably weren’t changed after the debate because Senator Obama was consistent throughout all three debates and did pretty well while Senator McCain went from bad to better. They touched on important issues like tax policies, energy, healthcare plans, education, climate control, foreign oil import, and abortion.
Barack Obama mentioned that this is the worst economic crisis since the great depression. Obama believes we should invest in the American people with policies that lift wages and grow our middle class as well as tax cuts, while John McCain’s method is to reform the government and spend less money.   They also spoke about which vice president nominee, Joe Biden and Sarah Palin, would make the better president in the event something would happen to McCain or Obama, and why they qualify for the position.
Something that had me lost for a minute was Joe the Plumber, a guy who unclogs toilets, got me thinking who he was since they were mentioning him so much. He was mentioned too often, the name kept coming up in almost every issue. What was that all about? I later found out he was a gentleman from Ohio. A bit awkward; I guess he was supposed to symbolize the middle class. I thought it seemed premeditated, was too simple, and would have been more effective if everyone was in on the joke. I’m disappointed that Obama jumped on the bandwagon because it was getting ridiculous. McCain ran into trouble presenting facts about Joe the plumber. Obama would turn the facts effectively. Senator McCain should have just
Energy- different forms (solar panels, wind turbines), more efficient cars. Auto-makers should produce highly fuel efficient cars in the future for energy independence and make more jobs....
