* The definition of Social disorganization is, according to Dictionary.com, LLC. (2011), is the “disruption or breakdown of the structure of social relations and values resulting in the loss of social controls over individual and group behavior, the development of social isolation and conflict, and a sense of estrangement or alienation from the mainstream of one's culture; the condition or state of anomie.” Social disorganization can be a social institution is failing like the schools, business, and the police (O'Connor, 2011). Social disorganization can be linked to the crime rates because the people who are in disadvantaged areas can participate in criminal behavior. This behavior can help to provide the people with wealth and power that are not readily available within the laws. The reason for this is that the society is failing to work together. Social disorganization can be the result of rules that are placed by the society being ignored by the members of the society, in some cases of organized crime and the disregards for the normal actions of the members of society that can exist. The deterioration that can be familiar can be a cause of social disorganization. Some researchers have form different theories of social disorganization over the years. These theories can range from the ecological approach, the ethnic succession, plus the illegitimate means of success.
