In this world, there are many inspiring people. Most are very well known as peacemakers, Activists, and leaders. Yet there are people who are an inspiration because of the hard times they went through, Like in the book, Freak the Mighty, written by Rodman Philbrick. There are two people who went through many adventures. Both are different to each other, but they are like two pieces missing in a puzzle, they fit each other.
First, there is Maxwell Kane. He does not have any friends, he lives in the basement of his house, his father murdered his mother, He is extremely large, and does not have a lot of motivation to learn. He was moved from a special class, but was moved back up to the remedial classes. This was inspirational because if he can go from low to high, then anyone can. Anyone can study hard in school, just does not have a lot of thought in to it. He seems he has received his knowledge from his friend, Kevin.
Next, there is Kevin, or so called Freak. Kevin has a disease where he does not grow very well; he has the height of a two year old. He is not like the regular children, he can not play any sports, and he can’t walk well, but has knowledge. Kevin has superior vocabulary with many inspiring quotes. He reads books almost everyday, and knows almost everything. He would ride on Max’s back almost everyday having fun adventures with Freak guiding the way. Sadly, his heart gets too big for his body, and passes away, and Max is devastated because he lost his one and only friend, since Freak explained many things to Max, it seems Max can not live without him. Freak is inspirational because even though he is different from everyone else, he still kept strong and studied hard.
As stated, Max and Kevin are two totally different people, but made an amazing team. Max would take Kevin places he had never seen, and Kevin would teach Max knowledge. Both Kevin and Max are inspiring people because of their achievements and their actions.
