Hinduism is made of a few different traditions. Hinduism acts as an umbrella, some would say. Each tradition of the Hindu religion has different views or enlightenment on the same and different subject matters. But all still come to terms and believe one common truth, and that is; “Truth is one, they call it by different names.†Even if it is that one common truth, it would be considered unity to say the least. There are also a few other common tendencies that Hinduism traditions share. They all believe in Karma, marga, and dharma. These beliefs show how the world is connected as a whole. Generally, these acts or traditions show a sense of unity within the Hindu religion.
The Hindu religion teaches strongly against violence. This is believed to have been influence by society and cultural surroundings. As a result to this teaching, people who adopt Hinduism as a religion tend to be well behaved citizens and a great contributor to society. Morality and ethics are also taught with Hinduism they are also believed to have aspired from society and culture. Hindus tend to be vegetarian. This was developed by the people of India so they could preserve cows and other types of meats. They considered them to be a limited resource. Some would say that vegitables and fruits are also limited resources.
Some say that Hinduism is the oldest religion on the planet earth. Family’s generation after generation set into motion traditions and beliefs that could vary from another family next door. Those that convert into Hinduism tend to take on the traditions and beliefs of the family that converted him/her.
The desire of liberation in Hinduism is similar to that of most religions. After life there is death, and then some sort of heaven or paradise. This desire can be motivated by different things depending on an individual. An escape from some sort of suffering, a longing for a continuation of life of some sort, and blessings or rewards for doing the good deeds that we do...
