Romeo and Juliet

Shakespeare uses his writing techniques to express his ideas. William Shakespeare’s ideas are appreciated by all people of our world. These ideas such as hate, love, revenge and use and abuse of power. The techniques he uses to put these ideas across are emotive writing, characters, protagonists and plotline.

William Shakespeare uses emotive writing to express feelings of hatred between the Montague’s and the Capulet’s.
Tybalt “This by my voice should be a Montague. (To servant) fetch me my rapier, boy. Now, by the stock and honour of my kin, to strike him dead and hold not sin.”
In this example Shakespeare uses emotive writing to show the wretched hatred that the Montague’s and Capulet’s had for each other. This example also involves characters, for Tybalt hates the Montague’s possibly the most out of any of the Capulet’s and is constantly expressing his anger towards them.
William Shakespeare express love through the characters of Romeo and Juliet, through out the play they are constantly expressing there love for one another.
Romeo says to Juliet “My life better ended by   their hate than death by prorogued, wanting of thy love.”   Later on in the play Juliet and Romeo both kill each other over both of there deaths sealing there passion and undying love for one another. These characters where the most ideal contribute to the love in Romeo and Juliet.
Revenge is expressed in Romeo and Juliet by the plot line and the characters. Revenge was expressed when Tybalt murders Mercurio and Romeo in rage murders Tybalt to get revenge. Romeo showed much revenge with the murder of Tybalt which shows how Shakespeare uses characters to show the idea of hatred.
Use and abuse of power was expressed in Romeo and Juliet through the character of Lord Capulet. Lord Capulet used his power to force Juliet into marrying Paris, only so he could be more respected and own more land and this of course was against Juliet’s will.
