Scene 1:

(Person 1 and person 2 enter through door)

Person 1: Our scene takes place in Friar Lawrence cell after the death of Romeo and Juliet. Friar Lawrence and the nurse have secretly arranged for Lady Montague and Lady Capulet to meet without them knowing. This is because the two mothers have refused to end the feud between Montague’s and Capulet’s.

Person 2: The scene explores the feelings and emotions between each other and their feelings toward their dead children. Lady Capulet is played by Jasmine and I’ll be playing Lady Montague.

(Lady Montague enters through door looking worried)

Lady Montague: Friar Lawrence, Friar Lawrence where are you?? (Stressed) He asked me to meet him here half the time ago!

(The door opens and Lady Capulet walks in impatiently)

Lady Capulet: Nurse? (Looks around the room and pauses when she sees LM) You! What are you doing here?

Lady Montague: Shouldn’t I ask thy same question?

Lady Capulet: What? I am to be meeting nurse here, and your excuse?

(Both shriek when the door suddenly slams behind them. LM looks at LC and grunts.)

Lady Montague: This is your doing, isn’t it! Everything is to be done your way! You bloody Capulet’s. And look where your way has got thy. My fair Romeo is DEAD!

Lady Capulet: (Chuckles to herself) – (Sarcastically) Oh poor Montague. Oh my grief’s for thy are heart felt and sorrow filled.

Lady Montague: Your mockery is a sign of your weakness. You worthless piece of…
(Is cut off by LC)

Lady Capulet: Filth! Is what you are. Montague… pfft. That name means nothing to thy. I stand upon the ground with Montague perched beneath thy feet. That name is but scum, as are you.            

Lady Montague: (Gasps). Stands up and straightens here skirt.) Scum...
