The Sciences And The Arts

THE SCIENCES AND THE ARTS

In the late twentieth century, science and the arts developed in their
own ways.   They developed similarly in some respects, and in others they
differed completely.   Significant advancements were sure to change society
forever.
The sciences developed in their own branches and became more and
more specialized.   This brought each branch of science further and further
apart from one another.   The arts became more complex in their own
categories as well.   Both of these developments caused people to think more
deeply about what was going on and think of ideas in a whole new manner.
At the same time, science could not explain many things about the
universe in which we live.   It seemed that as one question was answered,
another was created.   Contrastingly, the arts seemed to create these types of
problems.   Becoming more abstract, it was becoming harder to understand
the exact meaning of a piece of literature or a sculpture for example.
These developments in both the arts and the sciences changed their
fields forever.   No longer would people think so broadly on these subjects
because of the specialization and complexity that occurred.   With these
significant developments, the society in the twentieth century was changed
forever.
