Diabetes is not only a disease, it is a pandemic. It is affecting million of peoples all over the world.   People are dying from these diseases, many of which died right here in the United States of America. Roughly 24 million people are effecting by this disease. According to a survey, Diabetes is at seventh number which is leading to death in the USA. There was a little drop in 2002 but it is a still major concern for the society. Diabetes kill more people yearly than pneumonia /influenza, septicemia, Alzheimer’s disease, nephritis and nephritis , along with several causes of death. Diabetes is a very formidable foe , but it can be diagnosed , managed, and in some cases , this disease has been beaten with medical treatment , and preventative measures.
Diabetes can be categories as Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes.   The type 1 diabetes was also know as juvenile diabetes, or juvenile onset diabetes. This type of diabetes is usually diagnosed in young adults and children. Unfortunately this type of diabetes has no cure and it affects about 30,000 new Americans each year. Gestational diabetes affects the pregnant women, usually after 28 weeks of gestation. There are many causes of this disease but the exact cause is still unknown. While the baby is forming in the mother’s womb, the hormones that help aid the process of developing the fetus may also block the insulin secreted by the mother’s pancreas. This results in the hyperglycemia due to retention of glucose in blood stream. Hyperglycemia cause 3 times more insulin required than secreted by the mother’s pancreas. If this type of diabetes is not treated on time it may cause the high weight to baby and this high weight may lead to shoulder injury to baby while in delivery. There is also a chance that baby may develop both type1 and type2 in his later stage.
