Lets do it for our future.


Addicts and criminals are what we would consider chronic users of heroin, cocaine, or crystal meth and if these individuals are convicted they may face jail time or hefty fines.   With all these illegal substances accessible to our youth, our government has begun to place strict policies to keep them off of these drugs.   With all of this work placed into drug prevention than why is it that steroids abusers do not face the same punishment as those of heroin or cocaine?   Is it simply that our society turns their heads when it comes to these drugs or is it because we as Americans do not consider steroids to as big of deal as other drugs?   The answers are complicated, but if you speak to any knowledgeable individual on the topic of steroids you will find that the majority will agree that steroids should be taken just as serious as other illegal drugs.

With television, magazines, and the internet our youth, for several decades now, have been first hand witnesses that our role models are perfect.   It is hard for any young female to see Jessica Simpson walk around with the entire world looking at her for her gorgeous looks and wonder to themselves why they were not created equally.   Not every individual is created equally and parents should teach their children the benefits of being an individual and take pride in themselves.   The draw back is when they see someone such as Pamela Anderson strutting around in nothing but a single thread and a few grand of plastic.
The same problems face our youth when young athletes are idealizing a sports icon when in recent allegations tell us that they person our youth has been imitating for years uses an illegal drug that gives them a fake advantage.   Its devastating to children and they may feel a sense of emptiness, but those feelings will heal.   Our major problem rests in the hearts of the individuals that take their idealizations to the next level....
