Early Life
Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco, California, and was adopted as an infant. He grew up just south

of his birthplace in Cupertino, California. After graduating from Homestead High School, Jobs enrolled

at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. He dropped out after only one semester. In 1974, Jobs moved

back to California before going on his journey to India. Not long after returning to California, Steve

Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple Computers.

Apple opened in 1980 with the success of the Apple II personal computer. John Sculley, a former Pepsi

executive, was hired by Jobs as CEO, but the 1984 sales decrease and a ruined relationship between

Sculley and Jobs resulting in Jobs leaving Apple.
Other ProjectsIn 1986, Jobs founded the NeXT computer company. The company was unable to get as good of

reputation as other companys at the time. NeXT was purchased by Apple in 1996, making it easier for

Jobs to eventually become CEO.

Jobs Returns to AppleAfter the departure of Gil Amelio, Jobs became Apple's interim CEO. Jobs regained the confidence of

the board of directors when design developments and the introduction of the iMac led to a large

number of sales. Jobs ultimately reestablished Apple as one of the most cutting-edge tech companies.

With products such as the iPod and the iPhone, Apple became more of a household name than ever

before.

Jobs and DisneySteve Jobs was appointed Disney's board of director in 2006, after the company purchased Pixar

Studios, where he was formerly chairman and CEO. Jobs is currently on six months medical leave

from Apple, at the same time he is up for re-election for the board member for Disney. Despite the fact

that Jobs seems to have already won the support of Disney's current CEO Robert Iger, critics don’t
