Globalization of a business is definitely not an easy task to accomplish when it comes to making the decision. Whether it is a business that is already successful in its home country or a potential business that is planning its debut in another country, either way there is a whole lot of risk involved. Becoming familiar with the foreign country’s rules and regulations, economy, and society are just a few of the factors that must be taken into consideration.
Throughout this paper, the strategic planning and analysis will be conducted to give a business plan on how A Better You, Inc., a personal hygiene product supplier in the U.S., plans on becoming global by conducting business in the state island of Chuuk. Described will be such factors such as the business’s global movement, mode of entry, and some of the numerous risks involved. Also, a SWOTT analysis will be provided to give a detailed description of the pros and cons of the state island of Chuuk.
There are several methods for moving merchandise to Chuuk.   Air and sea options are currently available, but therein exists several concerns.   The geographic isolation of the island poses severe transportation limitations which can be overcome only through careful business planning and forecasting.
The most reliable option for moving merchandise to Chuuk is also the most expensive method utilizing Continental Airlines.   With an entire subsidiary devoted to passenger and cargo service, Continental-Micronesia provides daily service through the airport located in Weno.   This exclusivity offering dedicated service to Micronesia is also the largest risk factor due to the limited scope of operations.   Although the routes are serviced daily, the Micronesian subsidiary of Continental...
