The introduction of the internet, or otherwise known as the World Wide Web is said to be created by the United States during the late 1950’s to gain a technological advantage over the Soviet Union during the cold war. Although this was its first purpose, fifty years can change a lot, well shown in this situation as the internet has become one of, if not the most effective businesses advertising tool today. It has completely changed the whole business culture from what used to be advertising in newspapers and flyers, radio stations, and TV programs. These forms of advertising are still around today, but the effectiveness of these advertising strategies is no were near what can be accomplished on the internet. The internet has revolutionized business over the years, but the new internet technology of e-commercials is taking business one step further in leveling the playing field between large corporations and small businesses, benefiting consumers as it creates more competition amongst markets.   In today’s fast past marketplace, the small businessman and entrepreneur is able to sustain effective marketing strategies at lower costs through the attractive world of e-commercials!  

Before the 1950’s companies used radio, newspapers, magazines and flyers as their means of attracting consumers to their products. After the 1950’s the television became the hottest consumer property in North American households, everybody wanted one. Businesses recognized the possibilities of reaching out to millions of people around the world for the first time through the use of television commercials to promote their product. Large television corporations like the NBC (National Broadcasting Corporation) developed the concept of selling small portions of air time to varying types of advertisers to promote their product which evolved into what we now know as being television commercials.
