Paper Four: Book Review the Kite Runner
   
    The Kite Runner is a book written by author Khaled Hosseini.   The novel itself is 371 pages.   The publisher of this novel is Riverhead Books, which is a subsidiary of The Penguin Group, USA.   List price of the book is $14.00.   The book is fiction and was released in 2003.   This book is the story of Amir, a young boy.   It is set in Afghanistan.   It is a story of betrayal and redemption; moreover, it is a story of aspiring to make things right.   This book has lessons that can be useful and beneficial to anyone.   The strongest lesson in this book is one of redeeming ones self in the eyes of the most important person in our lives.   Ourselves.
    The book follows the life of Amir, a boy living in Afghanistan.   His best friend, Hassan, is the son of his fathers’ servant.   The story follows the two through their daily lives, playing, reading and kite fighting on the streets. Amir feels that his father, Baba, blames him for the death of his mother in his delivery.   Amir feels a great respect for his father's best friend Rahim, who supports his intention to become a writer. After Amir wins a competition of kite fighting, Hassan runs to bring a kite to Amir, but he is beaten and raped by the local bully, Assef.   Amir witnesses the rape but does not help Hassan.   Amir hides his watch in Hassan's bed to frame his friend as a thief and force his father to fire the servants.   This was done to hide the shame and guilt that Amir felt by not coming to Hassan’s rescue.   The country fell into war and the father and son fled, eventually ending up in the United States.   Amir then meets a woman, Soraya, at a weekly
