Nature of Thought
The mere nature of our thought processes play a key role in our everyday lives. Thinking, sensing, memory, perceptions, personal barriers, and thoughts are all major contributors to our specific nature of thought process. But what are the some of the questions we ask to facilitate the determining factors in our thought process? What are the quality of these thoughts? Are they perceived as good or bad, negative or positive, tempered or relaxed? The purpose of this paper is to describe my nature of thought processes and how they influence my perceptions.
Thinking and Sensing
Thinking is the process of using one’s mind to consider something carefully. In this process of thinking an person must use his or her senses and be able to understand them. The human race, in general, are considered very sensual beings. For instance, a theme park is designed to produce emotional responses, whether it be a Rollercoaster, Ferris wheel, or simply the smell of deep fried pastries, if we had never before experienced the rolls, flips, spins, drops, and speed, inducing the multiple screams shouts and satisfaction; there is little doubt that watching or seeing, smelling and hearing all of those reactions affect your thinking about whether or not you wanted to subject yourself to those induced emotions and reactions. You could ask yourself am I going to be scared, excited, or perhaps both. Our senses provide the relational data for our minds to determine our reaction to any situation. As Philosopher Rene Descartes put it, “I think therefore I Amâ€( Discourse on the Method, 1637, Part 4). Our senses provide the knowledge used to fuel the thinking process.
