William shakespeare in this tragic play The Tragedy of macbeth written in the 1606,Dramatizes the engulfing power of Blood, which ultimately results in
Macbeths demise.Shakespeare wrote this play to show how a taste of power can lead to reward, but also lead to many more difficult obstacles on the
path.Sadly though it will only lead to despair. This tragic shakespeare play follows the story of Macbeth,a powerful figure of scotland who committed dark
deeds to take the throne. In the tragedy of macbeth, blood is an important motif that permeates the dramatic structure.Shakespeare uses blood to haunt and
remind of the dark deeds that unfolded,to show that the blood on Macbeths and lady Macbeths will always haunt the couple, and to cause a feeling of
paranoia to the murder'ers of the king. This motif serves to dramatize the regret of Macbeth and lady Macbeths slaughtering of the king.It serves to
dramatize the action of the treacherous murder,And when the blood appears, its a ever haunting regret or reminder of the crime committed
.
Initially, shakespeare portrays the motif of blood as betrayal, the feeling of the crime committed by Macbeth. For example,"Macbeth fears that he will
never wash the guilt and evidence from his hands or soul".(2.2.61).
This shows that macbeth will never get rid of the feeling of guilt and betrayal.Macbeth is shocked by his own action and felt he was always loyal to his
king but evil thoughts had barrowed into his brain, now he must live with the guilt of his ultimate betrayal.Futhermore afer his planned murder of his
friend banquo, macbeth feels that his crimes he has made are pursuing him now after seeing banquos foreboding ghost.(3.4.121).
this shows that Macbeths mental state is weakening knowing his friend is now haunting him.
apparently macbeths loyal friends are now doubting there kings mental state from his dinner the night banquo visited him.
Macbeth himself is falling into his own delusions...
