      According to the Bible, God is the creator of all whom speaks the world into existence. Though He creates the entire world, it is the creation of humanity which is the climax of the biblical creation narrative. The creation of the world is God’s cosmic kingdom as depicted by the Bible. Since humans were created in the image of the divine creator God we have been given dominion over this kingdom.   Although the term covenant is not stated in the creation account, it is an extremely important concept to understand. The idea of a covenant is evident throughout Genesis and the entire biblical story seems to be centered on the covenants God creates with His chosen people. It is also important to understand as His creation covenant is the foundation for all to come in the future. By definition, in scripture, God’s covenant with his people is a personal and structured relationship of life and love consisting of blessings and corresponding obligations or roles.

      God has granted three major blessings to Adam and Eve in the creation narrative all of which have corresponding obligations to go along with the blessing. The first of these is a sanctuary to observe the presence of God. The sanctuary here is a garden. The garden is a place provided so that God may have a special place for special occasions in which He will reveal Himself with additional clarity and power. The sanctuary makes Himself accessible to everyone for a close relationship them. The obligation here is worship and priesthood. His people are expected to know and communicate with God, the Word. There would also be a Tree of Life which is a tangible sign from which the presence of God is shown and a symbol that life comes from God, Sacrament.
