Things Fall Apart

Just because they look “perfect” on the outside doesn’t mean they aren’t dying on the inside. The people that seem the happiest are usually the ones who go home and cry every night. They hide their feelings inside cause they feel no one can fully understand what they are going through. They’re right, no one will understand it completely. The other person isn’t going through that at the time… but what if they’ve already been through it. They know what’s the best thing to do. As you walk through high-school you see cliques of people, the preps, the jocks, the punks, the skaters, the potheads, the nerds, the outcasts, the actors, the freaks, and then.. the normal kids. What do you consider normal, what’s even the definition of normal? Normal refers to a lack of significant deviation from the average thing, it’s nothing.. People in the cliques think that they’re normal and the ones in the clique are too, but to others they may not be. If you had the chance to be in a big room with the whole school on one side and if they experienced or witnessed something you had to go to the other imagine how many people would be walking to the other side when you were. Imagine how much every person goes through. Some people may go home to a father who beats them. Some people can go home to a mom that’s addicted to drugs. Some people may not even have a home to go to. These are the things people don’t see… Just because a girl is pretty, doesn’t mean that she lives a happy life. Just because that buff football player is a good athlete, doesn’t mean that he wasn’t abused as a kid. Just because that cheerleader has a lot of friends, doesn’t mean she doesn’t feel lonely inside. And that kid that only listens to heavy metal? He might listen to it because music is his vent, his mom can be a drug addict and not pay any attention to the kid. I don’t think anyone realizes this… Every person has flaws, they might just hide them well. We all need someone to talk to at one point, before it builds...
