Many people assume twins are exactly the same. People don’t see two separate people, they only see two of a kind. People refer to them as “the twinsâ€. Only people who are close to them know that there are differences between the two. They see what makes each twin unique.
For example, I have two older sisters who are twins. The surface differences are obvious. Becky is more heavier then Rose Ann. Rose Ann wears contacts while Becky wear glasses. Other differences are height (Rose Ann’s a half an inch taller) and hair color (Becky dyes her hair regularly). But anyone who is close to my sisters can notice many differences between the two of them.
The differences are easy to spot. Personality wise, Becky is the more artistic one. In college, she was involved in art and theatre. Nowadays, she works as a graphic designer in Boston. She is quiet and shy and has a hard time getting to know people. When she gets stressed out, she tends to bite her nails and fidget a lot. This is how my family knows she is nervous.
Rose Ann, my other sister, is not exactly the same. She does like art and was involved in art projects in college but she always wanted to be a teacher. In college, she was an Art Education major. Both are married (got married the same year) and have one daughter each, born within weeks of each other. They love the same types of music. They can finish each other’s sentences when they are talking to each other. Both have the same habit of gesturing when they speak.
My sisters are alike but can be so different at times. Most people can only see the surface differences but once...
