Ways to spot storm at South China Sea

It is very dangerous if we meet storm when sailing. It is very important that the fisherman should know how to spot storm in the South China Sea.

There are a few types of cloud which will indicate the weather of that day. Firstly, cirrus cloud. It is a high-level cloud which located above 6000 meters. It is long, thin and wispy. The appearance pf this cloud indicates changes in weather occurring within 24 hours. Secondly, rounds puffs and appear in long rows clouds called cirrocumulus. It is also be category as high-level clouds which located above 6000meters too. It will appear 12 to 24 hours after rain.

Next, there are two mid-level clouds which located between 2000-6000 meters of high called Altostratus and also Altocumulus. Altostratus clouds cover the whole sky and appear in grey or blue grey. It forms ahead of the storms and bring continuous rain. Altocumulus clouds appear in grayish white and one part of cloud darker than the other, it usually forms groups. It presents on warm, sticky mornings and indicates thunderstorms in late afternoon.

There are also two types of cloud which category as low-level clouds it forms-below 2000meters. One of them is Nimbostratus, appear in dark grey with ragged base and bring rain. Another one is Cumulonimbus, a thunderstorm clouds, it have important feature called anvil, it have fuzzy fibrous appearance on top and bring heavy rain and even lighting.
These are the types of clouds which will indicate the weather of the day, fishermen should take note on these type of clouds. Beside this, sudden drop of temperature and change in wind direction will also indicates the weather of that day. In the 21st century the fisherman can also use the barometer to test the pressure, if the barometer shows the rapid drop of pressure, then the fisherman should beware, and decide whether want to going out to sea or not.
