Why the Americans’ Rebelled

Even after their establishment, the American colonies were treated almost the same as if they were still a part of Britain. So then, why did the Americans rebel in the American Revolution against Britain? Well, there were many factors that prompted the Americans to rebel. Some of the factors were parliamentary taxation, restriction of civil liberties, British military measures, and the legacy of colonial religious and political ideas. All these factors were very important as they demonstrated why the Americans rebelled.
First of all, the Americans rebelled because of parliamentary taxation. According to a document called the English Bill of Rights (1689), it is forbidden to impose taxes without the consent of parliament. This document applied to the colonies as well. Then, because of all the debt from the French and Indian War, the British had to pay it off by imposing taxes on the colonies. The Stamp Act (1765), which put a tax on newspapers, contracts, pamphlets, and other paper like materials, quickly angered the Colonies, along as the Townshend Acts (1767) that put a tax on common imported items such as lead, paper, and tea, as they claimed the tax violated the Rights of the Englishmen. But, Parliament claimed that the colonies had virtual representation. These taxes gave the colonies one reason to rebel against Britain.
Next, the restriction of civic liberties was a factor that led to the American rebellion.   One key fact was the Intolerable Acts (1774). These acts were established in response to the famous Boston Tea Party (1773). As a sort of punishment, the Act included the Massachusetts Government Act, which changed the Massachusetts Charter and restricted and controlled town meetings, the Administration of Justice Act, which allowed Britain to move the trials of accused royal officials to Britain, the Boston Port Act, which closed the port of Boston until all the tea was paid back, without a proper testify from the colonies, and the Quartering Act,...
