There are several reasons to consider the legalizing of medical marijuana. Legalizing medical marijuana will boost the economy by allowing the government to profit off the taxes of medical marijuana. For example if the government will tax medical marijuana like they do tobacco sales that would put a boost in the economy. Another reason is that, medical marijuana help’s cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and help with the nausea feeling they have, and also treats the patients with glaucoma. Furthermore by legalizing marijuana would lower drug busts and lower housing cost to house a felon. President John F Kennedy was trying to legalize marijuana when he was in office in the 1960’s. Legalizing marijuana has been a debate for decades now.
First legalizing medical marijuana would help the economy and will produce windfalls. The government would generate revenue from marijuana because they could tax it like they tax on tobacco and alcohol sales. If marijuana were legalized, excess profits caused by the risk premium from these grow operations could be transferred to the government. If the government would go ahead and legalize marijuana and tax it like they tax tobacco, lower all the marketing out they would have revenue of 7.00 per pack. It came up to roughly 2 billion a year you would also save on enforcement, prosecution and you will cut down the cost of tax payers to house the felons. By legalizing marijuana it will create more jobs and more revenue for taxes. Do you know how much it would save the country financial system?
