Writing papers is a significant part of college life that every student must experience. Students must successfully complete writing a decent essay in the allotted amount of time. The problem with this entire process is the simple fact that high school and college students alike despise writing essays for multiple reasons. So, the question is why do students hate writing so much?
Many students don’t like writing papers simply because it is difficult. It requires effort and thinking and the paper forces the student to write about topics he/she would normally not think twice about. Usually the topics don’t necessarily interest the student which makes it even harder to make an argument about it or spend valuable time on a hopeless cause. Another roadblock many students face is that they do not have adequate skills. A large number of the general college population has a surprisingly small vocabulary and grammar skills which hinders them in the entire paper writing process. They feel too challenged and are more likely to give up easier thus resulting in a bad grade an increasing feelings of desperation in regards to writing classes.
Many students feel that they wrote a good paper and felt that it deserved a far better grade than they received considering the amount of effort and time put into the process. After putting forth so much exertion and trying their best just to receive a less than satisfactory grade can easily alter someone’s opinion about writing. When this process happens multiple times, a student just decides to give up rather than trying since they both produce the same results.
Making an impression is something that students strive to be able to achieve while writing papers. Positive feedback is the key to motivating a student to continue writing and making an effort to produce a good paper.
