Santeria resulted from a practice started by African slaves in Haiti carried from West Africa; called Vodou which was fused with images of Catholic saints.
4) The Navajo’s view the circle as stifling and restrictive. In your opinion what reasons would the Navajo view the circle as such?
The circle is a symbol of unity it has no beginning and no end believed that time is circular and keeps coming back to the same place.
In my opinion the Navajo may see this circle as a way of bad staying in the circle; no way out for the bad. This may also be a way of restricting any good to come into the circle and only bad coming back to the same place.
5) The power of spirits is believed to be highly concentrated. It is referred to as mana by the people of the Pacific islands. This is the vital force that makes it possible to act with unusual strength, insight, and effectiveness.
