There was a term coined in the 1930’s, “moral paralysis” and it was a term that referred to the inaction of European countries, democratic European countries, to the buildup of the Nazi war machine.   And somehow they watched this buildup going on, but they suffered from something called “moral paralysis”.   It’s really interesting when you study history, because you find out that there are a lot of similarities that happen throughout periods and throughout some of the same peoples who experience difficulty and problem.   In a recent article that appeared in the

It’s entitled Iran’s buildup following familiar course

And the writer there says that Winston Churchill was said to have been quoted as saying during that buildup leading to World War II that “Never was there a war that was easier to stop, in fact when Adolph Hitler began his march across Europe he had given instructions to his generals that at the first sign you see the armies of France rise up, turn around and come back, because at that time the strongest army in all of Europe was France and yet France stood by and did absolutely nothing and I want to just read to you from this article because I really think it’s timely, it’s insightful and here’s what the writer says :
